N.Y. National Guard service members assigned to Joint Task Force – Empire Shield alongside PAPD, DHS, TSA and other agencies provide security presence during a heightened security on the 9/11 anniversary on September 11, 2011 at JFK Airport, Queens, NY. JTF-ES provides a heavy visible military presence to deter terrorist threat and provide a show of force across New York City. With President Barack Obama, former President George W. Bush and many other dignitaries attending ceremonies citywide, multiple local, city, state and federal law enforcement agents has been deployed throughout New York City.
